Consulate General team at work in Palma de Mallorca
Palma de Mallorca, 14-15 OCTOBER, 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona flew to Palma de Mallorca from 14 to 15 October 2023 to provide consular services to the Filipino community on the island. Close to 250 services were provided, including passport renewal, dual citizenship, notarials, civil registry, NBI clearance and “yellow card” or community registration applications. Meanwhile the overseas voting team registered a total of 60 new voters.
Consul Raisa Mabayo, leading the outreach team, also welcomed Ms. Francisca Sampol, the newly -appointed Director General for Interculturality of the City of Palma de Mallorca who visited the outreach mission to greet the Consulate team and the community. Ms. Sampol commended the Consulate General for its proactive involvement and responsiveness to the Filipino community's needs.
In line with its continuous effort to support the upskilling of the Filipino community, the Consulate also supported a Masterclass on Standard Digital Skills organized by Welfare Officer Maria Corazon Sangco from the Madrid-based Migrant Workers Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), with participants from the consular outreach joining in.
The Consulate extends its appreciation to the Filipino community organizations for their pivotal role in promoting and as co-organizers of the outreach mission. Committed to fostering strong community ties, the Consulate initiates regular virtual meetings to maintain open lines of communication with the Palma de Mallorca Filipino community leaders and address concerns promptly.
