BARCELONA, SPAIN, 15 May 2023 – The Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona, in its continued commitment to serving the needs of the Filipino community, conducted a successful consular outreach mission and overseas voting registration in Tarragona on 14 May 2023. The outreach ensured that all Filipinos residing within its jurisdiction are able to conveniently avail themselves of essential consular services.

The outreach mission, which took place at the Carmelites Descalços Tarragona, saw a team from the Consulate General, led by Consul Raisa Mabayo, bolstered by the presence of the Labor Attaché Nelson Victorino from the Migrant Workers Office in Madrid and Welfare Officer Maria Corazon Sangco from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). This collaborative effort allowed for a range of consular services to the Filipino community in Tarragona and its surrounding areas.

Aside from the various services provided during the event, the consular team also held a “kumustahan” with the community members present. Meanwhile, the Overseas Voting Registration team facilitated the registration of eligible Filipinos for the 2025 national elections, ensuring their voices are heard and counted.

The Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona, through its partnership with the Migrant Workers Office in Madrid and OWWA, regularly conducts consular outreach missions throughout its jurisdiction. These missions serve as a testament to the Consulate's commitment to bringing consular services closer to the Filipino community throughout the Consulate General’s jurisdiction–Andorra, Aragon, Balearic Islands, Catalonia, and Valencia–and promoting their welfare and well-being.
